Implementing methods for agile management can bring better performance to your team and help with the execution of the work, but, to be successful on this journey and adapt your team, we have prepared some techniques that will boost your entry into the agile world.
Materializing the product
Bring a more tangible vision of the product that is underway could be a first step, and there are ways to do this. The creation of a vision box aims draw the attention of individuals to the project, and consists of making the product something more tangible, placing in a box, with collages on the outside, the main information about what will be brought into the product.
This information is: product name, graphic representation of what it should look like, a slogan, an advertisement and its main features. In this way, anyone, whether or not involved in activities related to this project, may have a idea materialized, saving time on explanations and maintaining focus on what was idealized.
Communication in Tweets
When applying agile methodologies, it is essential to have language accuracy and convey necessary information concisely. A useful tactic is tweet-style communication, which limits the number of characters and encourages staff to convey complex ideas in a simple and accessible way to all members involved in the project, including the end user. In Gipo, for example, it is possible to use the comments field to apply this technique. Try this and other tools available for agile project and team management!
Time Social Contract
Despite focusing on agility, trying to maintain focus and discipline, managing an agile team also encounters problems when it comes to communication, scheduling and social organization. To try to solve this problem, one solution is to implement a team contract, something that will be exposed by them, with a unanimous decision, ensuring that there is no type of escape or disagreement during the execution of their tasks.
It must contain conduct that is considered acceptable and what is expected of each member, facilitating communication, maintaining social order during discussions related to the project, aligning thoughts and priorities.
It is important that this team contract is created individually for each team or project, being reviewed over time, so that the central idea of this document is not lost, which aims to everyone’s commitment to what was proposed by themselves.
Team Feeling
It is not enough to just apply these techniques and not understand what is happening with the team involved. Therefore, there are two methods that should be used to understand how members are feeling about work and fulfilling their obligations.
The first of these is Mood Marbles, in which each employee selects a color of an object, such as a ball, representing their mood at that moment in relation to work.
The other is called the Niko Niko Calendar, which aims to provide a space with notes of days and names of individuals, where the mood states of each worker working on development will be placed every day.
The objective of both is to perform a metric and understand if everything is going as expected or if there is any reason for dissatisfaction with the project, giving an overview and allowing appropriate interventions to be made when necessary.
